October 26, 2008

Today we got up and went to the "costume store" where there were no robot costumes. We thought if we exposed Mitchell to other ones he may change his mind...nope. The kids had their first experience with us at a McDonald's play land. Mitchell was pretty shy at first, and it was still a bit loud for him, but he did okay after observing awhile. Maria never made it past the first tube, but that's okay because it was pretty painless getting them to leave! We got home and Chuck started working on the robot costume for Mitchell...

We started watching Peter Pan, or "Hook", and both kids fell asleep on my lap for the whole movie! I enjoyed the time just holding them close.

Grandma made a calendar for Mitchell that he has stuck on the dishwasher. It has a photo of G&G at Red Cove where they are staying for the week, and the calendar has a count down for when they return--which just happens to be on Halloween! Mitchell wrote them a note in the bath tub with his bath crayons this evening. He wrote "GRANDMA" on the tub! He also made a drumset out of odds and ends around the house, and he was really rocking out! Maria brought the sit n spin inside from the garage and had a fun time with that. We spent time putting a rainforest puzzle together from G&G too--Mitchell let Maria help us, so that was a good time. I fell asleep reading Mitchell Scooby Doo and then I got to carry Maria to bed tonight. It was a good day.

Fall 2008

We have had a busy fall! Too busy to take many photos--bummer! Here are a few of my recent favorites...
1) "Mitchell, time to wake up!"
2) Mitchell set up a homemade drum set and Maria is taking her turn!
3) Maria's got a hold of Daddy's ears.
4) Aunties Pat & Marlene visit from Maryland and Wash DC
5) Maria on the first day of fall
6) Mitchell on the first day of fall--he doesn't stay still long enough for me to get good photos!
7) Reading books before bed-most of the time Mom falls asleep before they do.
8) Love
9) Brothers on Computers

I'll try to get more photos as the fall continues! It will be a busy winter too as Chris graduates from college in December in addition to all of the winter holidays! We still haven't figured out what the kids want to be for Halloween!
